Originally from Belgium, Diego Ferreira Fernandez discovered the piano at a very young age. He began his musical training at the Conservatory of Verviers, where he studied piano and music theory from 2006 to 2018. It was there that his passion for the instrument was born, nurtured by years of rigorous work and artistic exploration.

In 2018, at 17 years old, he won First Prize at the Visé Piano Competition. This achievement allowed him to continue his studies with renowned teachers. After joining IMEP in Namur, he refined his technique and interpretation with Mikhail Faerman and Fabian Jardon, and took part in masterclasses with Klaus Hellwig, Milana Chernyavska, Dalia Ouziel, Dominique Cornil, and Johan Schmidt.

He earned his Master’s degree in 2023, and during these years, Diego gradually found his personal style and occasionally performs in chamber music, while continuing his work as a soloist.

He explores a wide-ranging repertoire, performing works from different eras and styles with sensitivity and commitment. More recently, he has also turned to Spanish music, appreciating its richness and intimacy.

In 2024, Diego moved to Barcelona to continue his artistic development. He is currently studying with Ferran Cullell Massallé and Josep Maria Colom.
